What it is
Cholesterol is a fatty material in your blood. Too much "LDL" can build up in your blood vessels and lead to heart attacks and strokes.
What helps
- Take your statin if prescribed - it lowers heart attack and stroke risk.
- Eat more vegetables, fruit, beans, and fish. Less fried and processed food.
- Move most days. Aim for a healthy weight.
- If you smoke, quitting helps your heart the most.
